14 June 2005
On 14 June 2005 The Washington Times reported:
Tower Companies, Washington DC's largest developer of 'green' buildings, announced that it was embarking on the biggest green project in its 58-year history. The Washington Times said the $250 million complex will include 'a nine-story office building with principles of Vedic Architecture, an Asian concept that focuses on making buildings conform with nature'.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of business.
Company officials said that the 600,000 sq ft structure will be the world's largest Vedic office building, using environmentally friendly materials and energy efficient technologies.
The Washington Times article went on to describe some of the basic elements of Vedic Architecture, including creating an open space in the middle and an orientation of the entrance to the east.
Writer Tom Ramstack reported that Vedic Architecture was introduced to the United States by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme.
Jonathan Lipman, an architect trained in Vedic Architecture, was quoted as saying Vedic Architecture goes beyond the usual focus on beauty and engineering seen in traditional architecture to address issues such as promoting health and well-being.
Jeffrey Abramson, partner in the Tower Companies, noted that 'There are over $250 million of Vedic homes in the United States, but it has never been done in an office building of this size.'
Construction on the complexes is scheduled to begin this winter and be completed in 2007.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
