Transformation of the banking system: Dawn of real wealth

Speaking on 22 September 2008, Dr Peter Swan, Minister of Communication of the Global Country of World Peace and host of Maharishi Global Family Chat, commented on the current crisis in the world's banking systems.

Dr Swan reflected on a press conference in 2007 by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Transcendental Meditation Programme and the Global Country of World Peace, in which he predicted the transformation of the economy to a natural state of affluence. 'Maharishi was very critical of the banks for refusing to invest in poverty removal, for fear of risk — a policy which he said is shameful and cruel to life and to the economy itself. Maharishi said that time of negativity is over, and we would see the transformation within the year.' Dr Swan continued, 'Now we are seeing how the banks' own fear of risk has brought them into collapse. The time of great imbalance of the world economy is over.'

Dr Swan highlighted several statements Maharishi made during the press conference:

- All good in Nature happens naturally. People don't have to make an effort for the sun to rise. The dawn every morning is a natural phenomenon. In the same way, Maharishi invited the world to witness poverty removal unfold as a natural phenomenon.

- Poverty is not removed by wealth. Poverty is removed by the awakening of human consciousness, the rise of integrated national consciousness through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation Technique, and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying. With an integrated national consciousness, everyone in the nation will be blessed by Nature.

- Wealth is the basis of life. Life is bliss. Bliss is fullness, lack of scarcity, good health, good wealth, good wisdom.

Dr Swan concluded, 'Maharishi's programmes are creating affluence in the world. What is coming up is the wealth of life. We can witness this transformation around the world in the reports every evening on Maharishi Global Family Chat, and any time of day or night on Global Good News.'
