Featured on the Maharishi Global Family Chat on 24 November, Richard Bialosky and David Ederer, architects and real estate developers in Florida, USA, have received significant praise for the Mandala Club, a community based on the principles of Maharishi Vedic Architecture and certified by the Florida Green Building Coalition.

The project has won numerous awards, including the American Institute of Architecture (AIA) Award for Excellence in Master Planning, the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce Green Building of the Year Award, and the 2008 Green Builder Home of the Year.

Said Mr Bialosky, 'Green architecture needs to be holistic. Only Vedic architecture — known as Maharishi Sthapatya Veda — is truly holistic because it takes into account the connection of the individual to the cosmos.' He continued, 'Typical green building addresses problems that arise from not seeing the system as a whole. Vedic architecture addresses the wholeness of the system, connecting a person with the deeper Laws of Nature. By being connected with those deeper laws, all the things we need to do to heal the environment happen spontaneously.'

As a result of this project, Mr Bialosky was appointed Chairman of the local Architectural Review Committee, and was asked to join the Executive Board of the American Institute of Architects. Mr Ederer is on the Executive Board of Treasure Coast Builders Association, and has been asked to serve on the County Commissioners Green Development committee, and the Florida Green Building Coalition. The Junior League, a prestigious civic organization, asked them to be part of the Indian River County Tour of Homes in March 2009, drawing 600-700 attendees.

Mr Ederer spoke about the first phase of the Mandala Club development now underway, the pre-sale of 90 homes including townhomes, small, medium, and estate-size luxury homes. He urged everyone to live in a
Vastu home, such as those at the Mandala Club and Maharishi Vedic City in Iowa, USA.

'Today's real estate market is a challenge, but every challenge contains a huge opportunity. People are changing their priorities. It's time to reconstruct the world according to wealth-creating Vastu principles. The collapse of the non-Vastu real estate market indicates that people don't value their homes as their connection to Natural Law. A house became merely an investment. The coming world of Vedic architecture will be a much more solid real estate market.'

Mr Bialosky and Mr Ederer will be featured in the December issue of Green Builder Magazine.

Further details about the unique construction of the homes at Mandala Club will be reported on Global Good News in the coming days.
