Nigel Barlow, a long-time Teacher of Transcendental Meditation, company director, best-selling author, creativity coach, and popular international business speaker, presented benefits of Transcendental Meditation for business people during the recent tour* of leading brain researcher Dr Fred Travis** in Great Britain.
Mr Barlow is very highly respected in his field, said Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace. He speaks to large groups of business people all over the world. He is much in demand by leading companies such as Microsoft, Mobile, Apple, Nestle, and BBC. In his captivating style, he discusses how to increase creativity—and he presents the Transcendental Meditation Programme as the key technique to develop creativity and increase productivity.
Raja Peter presented a brief video clip of Mr Barlow which, he said, highlights the essence of Mr Barlow's message to groups of hundreds or thousands of business people all around the world.
'We all know those days when our mind thinks clearly, we understand exactly what to do, we get creative ideas, and everything just seems to flow,' Mr Barlow said. 'But how we can have more of those days?
'There's a very simple mental technique called Transcendental Meditation. You don't have to believe in it. It's not a religion. It's not a lifestyle. You just sit comfortably in a chair, [or] on the train 10-15 minutes twice a day, close your eyes, and in a very pleasurable way what happens is, you get rid of the stress and strain that you've built up from your busy life. You come out of a period of meditation refreshed, thinking clearly—and as in that example earlier, everything just seems to flow.
'It's often been thought that our mental development has been fixed by the time we're in our early 20's. This absolutely doesn't have to be the case. Lots of research shows that any time of life you take up the practice of Transcendental Meditation, your IQ, your memory, your ability to learn improves quite dramatically and measurably.
'You can always find time to meditate and it makes time for you. My experience of meditating is that when you're much more clear in your mind [and] you're less stressed, you get things done at a far, far quicker rate. So actually the investment in time pays off many times over,' Mr Barlow concluded.
