Employees of the award winning Tower Companies in Washington, DC, USA, speak about their experiences of Transcendental Meditation. Individuals report reduced blood pressure and cholesterol, increased ability to focus, and reduced stress in the work environment.

Dr Jeffrey Abramson, a partner in the company, said that he began Transcendental Meditation 35 years ago; he had decided to learn because of the scientific research on the technique. 'What I noticed was that creativity was really a product of the stillness of mind, the quiet of the mind,' he comments in a video available on the www.tm.org website. 'The quieter the mind, the more coherent the mind; the more coherent, the more intuitive; the more intuitive, the more flexible. And I thought, ''I don't know anyone who couldn't use that.'' '

A comptroller for the company reports that his health checkups have never been better. 'I have a history in my family of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and other kind of blood pressure things. And they're just perfect now. My doctor can't believe how perfect they are.'

'My work environment is very hectic, and there are a million things that are always going on at any given time,' said Marnie Abrahmson, a principal of the company. 'What I really need to do is to kind of come back into myself, quiet my mind a little so that I can focus. There's a pretty famous business phrase: ''Work smarter not harder,'' and I think that is really what Transcendental Meditation has done for me.'

The company's Associate Legal Counsel reported that it calmed her down. 'It took away a tremendous amount of stress. It helps me focus on my work. It keeps me very optimistic.'

Dr Abramson said that Transcendental Meditation is part of the company's health care programme, which is given free to everyone after just three months of being employed there. He said that people immediately feel that this is a unique company that cares about them, is investing in them, and wants them to succeed.

'They realize that people need those tools, and the best tool that I have found, that really develops the whole individual, is the Transcendental Meditation programme,' he concluded.
