On 30 May 2005 The Times of India reported on a four-day exhibition in Pune displaying various coins and currencies from around the world. Among them, is the Raam currency note that depicts Lord Raam. The Maharishi Vedic City Council in Iowa, USA, introduced the currency on 26 October 2001, the day of Vijaya Dashami, or 'Victory Day'. The article explained that one 'Raam' is worth approximately ten US dollars, and is exchangeable in 35 US states, as well as the Netherlands.
