Dr Christopher Hartnett, Chief Minister of North Carolina, USA, for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on a recent Global Family Chat on progress in developing a major online resource of knowledge and information about Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes for every area of society.
Dr Hartnett noted that in just ten years, the growth of the Internet has propelled the world from slow communications to instant access to information and messages. Now, he said, 'We are experiencing a new change that will affect all we do as individuals—the wiki, which means 'quick' in Hawaiian. He suggested that Maharishi's Global Country of World Peace can use the wiki for communication and for preserving his pure Vedic knowledge for all time.
Many are already familiar with the wikipedia—the global online encyclopedia that was securely built and assembled by millions throughout the world, Dr Hartnett said. Anyone can log onto it and look up virtually anything. The wiki is similar in that it is a place on the Internet to which anyone can go, at any time they want, to read and discuss a certain idea or a given project.
In North Carolina, USA, leaders of the Global Country of World Peace are building a global wiki where people can check in, with an interactive area for each aspect of work going on in that state. For example, there is a site for NC land acquisition, another for global celebrations, one with contact information for every area of the Global Country, another about available courses, one for want ads, another listing Maharishi Sthapatya Veda homes for sale or rent, and so on. Dr Hartnett says, 'This is a new way to store knowledge and achievements. Now is the time for our organization to be put in a protected arena that will keep the knowledge for all generations to come.'
