US: Upsurge of nationwide interest in Maharishi Vastu architecture

Jonathan Lipman, the nation's pre-eminent practitioner of Vedic architecture, spoke recently about an increase in interest in Maharishi Vastu architecture across the United States.

Mr Lipman, AIA, NCARB, has won state awards and his work has been published in various publications, including Architectural Record.

Mr Lipman explained that his architecture office has received an upsurge in enquiries, particularly from the Indo-American community.

'They of course would be the first ones to pick up on the revival of knowledge that comes from their home culture,' he said.

These enquiries have led to several site evaluations, and one of the projects has already secured permit permissions and is ready to begin construction.

Mr Lipman also shared news of Vastu building developments across the country.

In Vero Beach, Florida, four new Vastu houses have been designed and built, 'creating a real beginning of a peace colony* in Vero Beach, and they have two more on the boards that will be built soon'.

Some residents are assembling land for a peace community. Mr Lipman explained that, with the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the Vastu features of the site are quite good.

He also gave an update on the Ohio Vedic Homes 'Lake O'Springs' project in Canton, Ohio, from David Kidd, the residential development's project manager:

'Our roads are now built and all utilities are installed in the property. Grass has been planted. We have been inspected by our regional planning office engineer and we have a short to-do list. . . . Then we can close on any lot sales.'

He added that now all the 25 perfect Maharishi Vastu lots are on the Multiple Listing Service, 'meaning that anyone in the United States can walk into their real estate agent's office and view the lots for sale . . . in this brand new peace colony in the centre of Ohio.'
