Vilnius to have new traditional Japanese garden

Mayor of Vilnius, Arturas Zuokas, along with Japanese park and public space designers, Shiro and Yukihiro Nakane, unveiled their plan to build a new traditional Japanese garden in the Lithuanian capital. Mayor Zuokas explained that the sakura trees planted on the right bank of the Neris, which blossom every spring, 'symbolize Vilnius' multiculturalism and international cooperation. They are also one of the city's most beautiful green spaces.
