The David Lynch Foundation is dedicated to helping military veterans, African war refugees, first responders, victims of domestic violence, prison inmates, homeless, and disadvantaged children.

Another in a series of newly-released videos highlights the celebration of a year of successful projects—'An Historic Night of Jazz', the Foundation's fourth annual 'Change Begins Within' Benefit Gala. The evening featured world-class jazz performances by Herbie Hancock, Wynton Marsalis, and more, as well as inspiring stories from people touched by the David Lynch Foundation's many programmes.

Rita Cosby, an Emmy-Award winning news anchor and correspondent, praised the Foundation for its wide-reaching support.

She said, 'I love what the David Lynch Foundation does. You think about every single level: at-risk kids in schools around the world, veterans who have Post-Traumatic Stress like my father had, also women in need. It's incredible what they are doing.'

The common thread amongst all the David Lynch Foundation's projects is Transcendental Meditation (TM). The meditation technique has powerful applications from improving creativity in school children, to relieving stress in prison inmates, to reversing the symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

How does Transcendental Meditation help so many areas of life and society?

Award-winning film director David Lynch explained. 'Every human being has a treasury within. Unbounded intelligence is there, unbounded creativity, unbounded love, energy, peace, and happiness. Transcendental Meditation is a mental technique, an ancient form of meditation brought back for this time by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, and it's like being given a little golden key that opens the door to that treasury within.'

George Stephanopoulos, the acclaimed television journalist who is anchor of ABC's 'Good Morning America' and 'This Week', co-hosted last December's jazz event with David Lynch. He has been practising Transcendental Meditation for about two years and has found it effective.

'As I got more into TM,' Mr Stephanopoulos said, 'and learned more about it, and learned more about the work the Foundation is doing to really bring this practice to the places and the people who need it the most, I became excited about it and passionate about it.'

He concluded, 'I'm glad to help.'
