On 12 February 2014 The Huffington Post reported: ' ''Meditation more than any other factor has been the secret to whatever success I've had,'' Ray Dalio, founder of the world's largest hedge fund, Bridgewater Associates, told financial journalist Andrew Ross Sorkin at a David Lynch Foundation event on Tuesday evening. . . . Dalio said that Transcendental Meditation . . . which he's been practicing for more than 40 years, has revolutionized his approach to work and life.' It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of business.

Mr Sorkin was the moderator on 11 February of the foundation's New York forum on Meditation: Creativity, Performance, and Stress—which also included celebrity chef Mario Batali, Dr Pamela Peeke, Dr Norman Rosenthal, Arianna Huffington, and other leaders.*

' ''If there's stress sometimes, I'll just break away and go into meditation and it just washes off,'' Dalio told Sorkin. ''With meditation, you just come into equanimity and you know things are going to come at you, and you accept that.'' '

The Huffington Post article also describes how the Transcendental Meditation practice of many employees (half of their instruction fees paid by Dalio) supports aspects of Bridgewater corporate culture considered key to the firm's success—including 'the ability to have disagreement without emotion', in Dalio's words. 'I don't think we could do that without a calm equanimity.'
