The Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment in Iowa, USA is one of the seven schools featured in the cover story in the May issue of Worth magazine. The theme of this issue is alternatives in private education promoting leadership, values, and the family mission.

The school's philosophy is centered upon a belief that by including Transcendental Meditation into a traditional curriculum students think more clearly and creatively. Dr. Ashley Deans, head of the school, says the benefits are apparent in almost every measurable area of student performance, including test scores and athletics.

Equally important, according to Deans, is that students at Maharishi exhibit lower stress levels and have more energy than their counterparts at other schools.

And Nelina Loiselle, who's a senior at MSAE, says that drugs and alcohol are virtually non-existent. She's very content with what the school has to offer, and feels the increased rest and clarity of mind gained by the twice daily practice of Transcendental Meditation are invaluable assets for her future college life, which is the choice of 95% of all the students attending Maharishi School of the Age of Enlightenment.
