On December 8, the MUM Review reported that: An audience at Utah State University was impressed with the depth of Maharishi's knowledge in respect to enlightenment as a result of a recent presentation by Sanford Nidich, professor and associate director of the University's Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention.

Dr. Nidich was invited to be a featured speaker at the annual O.C. Tanner conference on religion, spirituality, and culture. He spoke about Maharishi Vedic Science(SM) and discussed how Total Natural Law and higher states of consciousness experienced through the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi® programs bring fulfillment to the fields of health, education, and world peace.

'The audience was greatly interested in Maharishi's knowledge, and the entire presentation was very well received by the faculty, students, and community guests,' Dr. Nidich said. 'They were particularly interested in all the different modalities of the Maharishi Consciousness-Based Health Care program, especially the Transcendental Meditation program and Vedic sound.

He said that while some of the other speakers had some idea of the state of enlightenment, they didn't have a clear and coherent framework in which to fully understand the process of gaining the full state of enlightenment.

Dr. Nidich covered a wide range of topics and research, including the subjective experience of higher states of consciousness, examples of various major religions expressing these higher realities of life, the understanding of the unified field of Natural Law from the perspective of modern theoretical physics, research on brain functioning, and the discovery by Raja Raam of the human physiology as the expression of Veda and Vedic Literature.

The title of his presentation was 'Transcendental Meditation and the Development of Higher States of Consciousness: The Individual Is Cosmic.' Other featured speakers included professors from institutions such as Harvard, Columbia University, and Pennsylvania State College of Medicine.

Dr. Nidich was invited by professor Richard Sherlock, a faculty member at Utah State who is a member of an external advisory committee for the Institute for Natural Medicine and Prevention.
