Boyum pointed out that over the last twenty years the National Institutes of Health have funded a number of studies on TM that verify the benefits of the practice.

'All this research together shows TM slows the ageing process and prevents chronic diseases associated with ageing, prolongs life span, and quality of life,' said Dr Robert Schneider.
