On 3 October 2005 The Brown Daily Herald reported: David Lynch, speaking to a packed hall at Brown University on 'Consciousness, Creativity, and the Brain', told students, 'The Transcendental Meditation Programme (TM) is a superbly profound technique that allows you to experience a subtler, more pure, consciousness. Lynch also discussed his non-profit foundation, the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace, which he created to help others obtain their maximum brain potential. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of education.

'There's an ocean of pure consciousness right inside each human being,' Lynch went on to say. 'The outcome of that growth of consciousness is enlightenment, and that is the full potential of human beings—supreme consciousness.'

Lynch said that not only can TM increase the happiness of the individual practitioner—when practised in large numbers it can also bring about world peace.

Lynch was joined by speakers Dr John Hagelin and Dr Fred Travis, an associate professor and director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management in Iowa.

'David's philosophy is simple,' Dr Hagelin observed. 'If you obtain individual peace and let it grow, let it stabilize, we will have world peace.'

Dr Travis demonstrated a live EEG scan on a meditator. 'What he's doing is he's turning the attention in, the mind is becoming more expanded and more full—this is the total brain function,' Travis said.

Travis then explained the anatomical implications of Transcendental Meditation on the brain. 'Every time you have an experience, the connections between your brain cells get stronger and stronger. Your brain is a river, not a rock,' he said.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
