On 13 March 2006 Times & Transcript reported:
Plans for Canada's first Peace Palace, in Moncton, New Brunswick, have been 'warmly received' by the Moncton City Council. Peace Palaces already exist or are in planning stages in many locations across North America, including St. Paul, Minnesota, and Lexington, Kentucky, in the US; as well as on islands located off Canada's east coast, near Canso, Nova Scotia.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
The Moncton Peace Palace is to be 12,000 square feet and two stories high, with a marble-plated exterior, pillars, and arches. The Peace Palace will serve as a home for Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Transcendental Meditation Programme and knowledge to create peace in the world.
The article describes the Transcendental Meditation Technique as 'a means of stress reduction that has as its aims nothing less than clearer thinking, greater creativity, increased happiness, more tolerance, better job performance, lower crime rate, and world peace'.
Also planned are six 'Communities of Global Peace' to be located throughout the world that will serve as locations for the community's 'Parliament'. One Community of Global Peace will be established in Canada on the islands to the south of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
