On 7 April 2006 DesmoinesRegister.com reported:
Before he presented at a recent weekend seminar in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, film director David Lynch discussed with the press the role of the Transcendental Meditation Programme for enhancing creativity, improving education, and creating world peace. The DesMoines Register described his words as warm and sincere.
It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring
fulfilment to the field of education.
The article reported that 'He sounds like an Iowa grandfather over the telephone. His excited descriptions of consciousness tumble forth with no detached coolness.'
Mr Lynch spoke about his own personal experience with the TM Technique and also what he has witnessed in students who practise the Transcendental Meditation Technique.
David Lynch has been a practitioner of Transcendental Meditation for more than 30 years. He says he experienced the benefits of the programme from his very first meditation: 'It was as if an elevator door's cables had been snipped and dove into bliss. I just had the most beautiful, blissful feeling.'
According to the article, Mr Lynch reported that experiencing 'pure consciousness' during the practice of the Transcendental Meditation Programme is like diving into a 'creative ocean'.
The film director told the press that Transcendental Meditation also helps him handle the tremendous pressure of the film business.
Mr Lynch has seen first-hand how the TM Technique helps students. He visited the school associated with Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, where all students practise the Transcendental Meditation Technique, and was extremely impressed.
He said: 'These students are packed with consciousness and happiness and creativity,' concluding, 'They are self-assured; they are powerful and beautiful.'
Mr Lynch has started the David Lynch Foundation with the goal of raising US$7 billion so that students around the world can have the opportunity to benefit from the Transcendental Meditation Technique. The article reports that 'Through the David Lynch Foundation, some 150 schools in the United States are enrolled in a voluntary programme where students practise the TM technique.'
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
