Dr Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace, recently reported that two large universities and their associated schools are introducing and very much appreciating the value of Consciousness-Based Education for their students.

Chile has a population 16 million and is probably the wealthiest country in Latin America. Chile requires 400 Yogic Flyers for national invincibility.

Dr Alvarez said that, under the inspiration of the lady Director of Chile, Dr. Carmen Montellano; the Founder of Invincibility and National Leader, Dr. Rafael de la Puente; and all the very devoted Teachers of Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flyers of Chile [individuals practising the TM-Sidhi Programme], the Vice-Chancellor of a university in Santiago started a Consciousness-Based Education programme last year.

Now about a thousand people have learned the practice of Transcendental Meditation. It was then seen necessary to extend this programme to the secondary level school of the university, because the timetable of the students facilitated having a global coherence—a stable practice every day together, rather than students just learning and not practising together.

'So the programme has been a success on two levels,' said Dr Alvarez. 'There is now great appreciation that Consciousness Based Education offers a new potential—especially for the total brain of the student to be developed.'

'The value for society has also been appreciated,' said Dr Jose Luis. 'So many total brains together functioning in coherence and creating invincibility has been understood and appreciated.'

In addition to the 1,000 university students, 500 were taught in the related school of the university. These 500 are now ready to start the TM-Sidhi Programme, and a group in the university also just started. This means that on the basis of these two projects, enough numbers of Yogic Flyers will be trained for the required number for the nation.

Dr Alvarez continued to say that in the very north of Chile is a city called Arica. The Vice Chancellor of a university in this city has also implemented an official programme in the university curriculum for 150 of their students, who are now very much enjoying the Transcendental Meditation Programme as part of their university activities.

'Again, appreciation of Consciousness-Based Education at that university in Arica is rising every day,' said Dr Alvarez.

Additionally, under the leadership of this Vice-Chancellor, and with the help of a very dynamic Teacher of Transcenddental Meditation there, another school associated with the university has a programme underway for 600 students.

So by the end of the year this university and the school will both have done the TM-Sidhi Programme. That will be another value added to what has already been developed in Santiago, Dr Alvarez said.

Just as these two things were happening, a lady Mayor in the centre of the country also wanted Consciousness-Based Education in her public system of the schools. She has organized for 1,000 students of the secondary schools to have a programme—which has now started with the training of the teachers, an essential part of successful introduction to the students.

'With these three programmes—one almost in its fulfilment, the second well advanced, and the third one now starting,' said Dr Alvarez, 'in the next weeks Chile will have more than enough Yogic Flyers in order to be on a good level of the national coherence requirement for the country.'

Dr Alvarez added that there has been a lot of appreciation in the press and in the general population for the value of this programme—especially for creating less violence and more harmony in our schools and universities.

The university is 'more peaceful and there is a new air of success and progress in the university, which is also affecting the development of positive news in the country,' Dr Alvarez said.
