Consciousness Based Education introduced in Israel

Dr Alex Kutai, National Director for the Global Country of World Peace for Israel, recently reported on the progress of introducing Consciousness-Based Education in that country. Dr Kutai described successful presentations in three cities by visiting Teachers of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation from America, Dr Jaine and Dr Barry Pitt, who spearheaded the introduction of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in a school in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

'Dr Jaine and Dr Barry Pitt gave a presentation to several influential leaders in the city of Haifa, and showed an impressive ABC News video of the Detroit school project,' Dr Kutai said. 'Inspired to create the same success, the audience decided to form an advisory board to support Consciousness-Based Education in Israel. Already In Haifa, a school of 2,000 students is planning to introduce the programme, encouraged by the mayor of the city who met with Dr David Lynch during his tour of Israel last fall.

'In the Arab village Daburia, Dr Jaine and Dr Barry Pitt met with the leaders of one of the largest schools, where the principal has recently signed an agreement to introduce Consciousness-Based Education to the students as soon as funding is available. The David Lynch Foundation has agreed to donate US$100,000 to be matched by local donations for this purpose. And in Kibbutz Amir, a third school has agreed to also start the programme in the coming year.'

Dr Kutai also reviewed the focussed efforts of the teachers of Transcendental Meditation in Israel to create Invincibility in the nation by training more Yogic Flyers and holding conferences featuring Dr John Hagelin's Unified Field presentations. The mayor of Metar, after seeing the presentation, decided to visit Maharishi Vedic City in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, and learn more about creating invincibility through Maharishi's programmes.
