Dr Alarik Arenander, Director of the Brain Research Institute at Maharishi University of Management, in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, and his wife Dr Cynthia Arenander, reported on a recent Maharishi Global Family Chat about the enthusiastic response they received from students and teachers in the educational institutes they visited during their tour in India during September and October.

The Arenanders visited eight cities, making presentations to many students, and to the great intellects, academics, and opinion-makers in India about Maharishi Vedic Science and total brain development. The presentations included live brainwave demonstrations showing increased coherence of brain activity through the practice of the Transcendental Meditation.

Please also see Parts I-VII of these reports by the Arenanders.

Continuing the comments by Dr Alarik Arenander about students' and educators' rapt interest in the scientific basis of Consciousness-Based Education, Dr Cynthia Arenander commented that in one school, a student asked her to promise that this school would receive the Consciousness-Based Education programme; in another school a teacher asked for the same promise. Dr Cynthia added, 'It happened just last Monday for the student—the whole school will be learning Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Technique next Monday!' She also mentioned that the teachers and principal of that school are absolutely thrilled.

Dr Girish Varma*, National Director of the Global Country of World Peace for India, and Director of Consciousness-Based Education in India, asked that the students' progress be documented through scientific research. Dr Alarik Arenander said that 'the students will have standard tests on memory, intelligence, concentration, learning ability, etc., before and from three to six months after learning the Transcendental Meditation Technique.'

He commented that tremendous progress has been seen in the students at Maharishi Vidya Mandirs. 'The results of the tests will show the value of changing the traditional education to Atma-based, Veda-based education.'

The goal of Maharishi's Vedic India Education Project is to teach 100,000 students—10,000 in ten different cities—in the coming year. Dr Arenander invited anyone interested in this project to make India invincible to contact the programme directly at: maharishiviep@aol.com.

* Dr Varma is also Director-General of the Maharishi Global Capital of World Peace at the Brahma-Sthan [auspicious central point] of India; Chairman of the 160 Maharishi Vidya Mandir Schools Group; and President of Maharishi Institutes of Management and Information Technology, in India.
