Tour inspires interest in Consciousness-Based Education in Great Britain and United Arab Emirates

Dr Ashley Deans, Global Ambassador of Consciousness-Based Education for the Global Country of World Peace, continues to inspire educators and officials in countries around the world through presentations about the benefits of Maharishi's Transcendental Meditation Programme and Consciousness-Based Education.

United Kingdom
Dr Deans recently travelled to London, UK and met with an official in charge of children's programmes who is endeavouring to develop a national strategy to reduce violence in schools. 'It was really fulfilling to be able to go through all of the research on Consciousness-Based Education and show . . . that Consciousness-Based Education would bring fulfilment to every single thing that he was trying to do,' Dr Deans said.

Dr Deans also explained that this programme could benefit not only students and teachers, but the entire nation. 'Just one school in the United Kingdom with a student body of 800 could reduce violence in the whole country,*' he said.

At the end of the meeting, the official said that any school wishing to implement this programme would have his support.

Dr Deans noted that the next step is to organize a conference for school principals and government officials so that many people can hear about Consciousness-Based Education in the United Kingdom.

United Arab Emirates
Next Dr Deans travelled to the United Arab Emirates, where he met with administrators at several universities.

One university is planning a collaboration with Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. They were very enthusiastic about Maharishi's programmes, Dr Deans said. One administrator expressed the desire to come to Maharishi University of Management to finish his PhD.

At another university, one of the chief administrators said he was interested in Consciousness-Based Education not only for his own school, but also wanted to arrange meetings for Dr Deans with many other schools in the area with thousands of students.

'We're very optimistic that one of those schools will begin Consciousness-Based Education and the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme including Yogic Flying and create invincibility for the United Arab Emirates,' Dr Deans said.
