The Times Education Supplement, the most prestigious educational publication in Great Britain, recently featured Consciousness-Based Education.

This is the publication read by school teachers, said Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace. The Times featured a comprehensive article entitled 'Meditations begin on academy status' along with a photo of the Skelmersdale Maharishi School.

The article reported that plans are developing for two academies offering the Transcendental Meditation Programme.

Students at the schools would practise Transcendental Meditation twice a day, the article reported. The article quoted Derek Cassells, Head Teacher of the highly successful Maharishi School in Skelmersdale, explaining that 'the key factor is that the meditation brings balance to the nervous system. This leads to greater creativity, intelligence and harmony, and better behaviour.'

The article reported, 'There is no religious aspect to the meditation and the schools would operate an open admissions policy for children of all faiths or none, Mr Cassells said. Apart from the meditation, they would be run along relatively traditional lines, he said.'

Raja Peter said that the article included a good summary of what Transcendental Meditation is, as well as a summary of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's work around the world since 1957.

Raja Peter also highlighted another article, from a local newspaper. This article included a comment from someone not in favour of the proposed academies. In response to this comment, the author of the article highlighted the impressive academic achievements of the Maharishi School in Skelmersdale and stated:

'With the breakdown of teenage discipline and juvenile disorder in our urban and village areas, I think the Government should give real consideration to the TM [organization's] application to run academies. Schools that turn out students who are well adjusted citizens have to be encouraged. Give peace a chance, as someone once said.'

These articles, and many others that came out recently—especially the Times Education Supplement—will have reached a large portion of the nation's school teachers, Raja Peter said.
