During a half-hour interview for www.dlf.tv prior to the historic concert—'Change Begins Within'—in New York at Radio City Music Hall on 4 April, Dr David Lynch expressed his deep appreciation to Sir Paul McCartney for his involvement with the concert and helping to bring Consciousness-Based Education into schools around the world.
Dr Lynch asked Sir Paul what he was doing in New York, and 'What are your thoughts on the ''now''?'
Sir Paul answered that what Dr Lynch is doing to bring Consciousness-Based Education and Transcendental Meditation into schools around the world 'is a fabulous thing. Because I think it's all very well to talk about it, but the thing is, when you actually put it in the mainstream, I think that's very important. I think that's the foot in the door, because people can then say, ''Ah, in Detroit, where the David Lynch Foundation has put the programme into schools, the results are these.''
'I think this is what people need,' Sir Paul said. 'They don't need high-minded talk so much as results. So for you to able to say the kids love it; the kids in the West Bank love it; kids in Brazil love it, and you're actually getting results—to me it's like a seed.
'It's for sure if you take a great seed, an acorn, and you don't put it in the ground, it's pretty guaranteed that you won't get an oak tree. But if you put it in the ground, there's a pretty good chance you'll get an oak tree.
'That seems to me what you're doing. So that's what I love about what we're involved in now, and that's why I was so happy to do the concert. It's very inspiring.'
David Lynch told Sir Paul that it was so beautiful that he was doing the concert in support of this. 'Everybody really appreciates it. It's going to send the most positive message to the world and really help things.'
This was followed by a delightful exchange of appreciation in which Dr Lynch said that Sir Paul's involvement was really helping, and Sir Paul expressed his great pleasure to do so.
The full thirty-minute interview will soon be available at www.dlf.tv.
