Students practising Transcendental Meditation can create an ideal society in Poland

Proponents of Consciousness-Based Education in Poland are working with schools to implement the programme for developing students' total brain functioning. Numerous school directors expressed interest after two major conferences introduced Consciousness-based Education to hundreds of educators in Poland last November.

To follow up on this momentum, Raja Willem Meijles, Raja (Administrator) of Invincible Poland and Dr Wojtek Skalski, Deputy Minister of Architecture for the Global Country of World Peace, recently visited Lodz and Warsaw to meet with a top official of the Polish educational authority, the Director of Education in Lodz (the country's second largest city), directors of a teacher training institute and a private secondary school, and the vice rector of a major university.

Said Dr Skalski, 'In every case the response is positive. Since the conferences last year with Dr Ashley Deans* and Dr John Hagelin** (international educators and experts in Consciousness-Based Education), the school directors understand the benefits of the programme, including total brain development through the Transcendental Meditation Technique. Now they are asking for proposals to implement it.'

The support of the David Lynch Foundation for Consciousness-Based Education and World Peace has contributed greatly to the open attitude expressed by the Polish educators. Highly regarded in Poland, Dr David Lynch, the renowned filmmaker and philanthropist, makes an annual visit to Lodz which is the film production centre of the country.

Consciousness-Based Education is one of the major initiatives of the Global Country of World Peace, established by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to create enlightenment for every individual and invincibility for every nation. Invincibility (also called an Ideal Society) is characterized by national coherence, with measurable, positive trends throughout society.

With a population just under 40 million, Poland can achieve invincibility by establishing a group of 632 Yogic Flyers (practitioners of an advanced programme of Transcendental Meditation, the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme). Eight schools implementing Consciousness-Based Education will not only produce happier, healthier students, but will also influence the collective consciousness of the nation from the deepest level of Natural Law. This influence, termed the Maharishi Effect, has been shown in numerous studies to enliven positive growth in every area of society.

Raja Willem and Dr Skalski return to Poland in several weeks to further the discussions, and expect to implement the programme in eight or nine schools this year.
