The ability of education in Sweden to create enlightened citizens and an invincible nation gained substantial support recently from two initiatives promoted by the Global Country of World Peace in the nation: - a tour by Dr Fred Travis, Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management, USA; and - the planned implementation of the Transcendental Meditation Programme in a school in Stockholm.
During his April visit to Gothenburg, Sweden, Dr Travis first conducted brain research on the Gothenburg city orchestra. In addition, he gave a presentation at a university in Gothenburg where a Transcendental Meditation Teacher and her husband are faculty members. During his week-long visit, Dr Travis made further presentations to Transcendental Meditation practitioners, as well as to the general public in Gothenburg.
Raja Bruce Plaut, Raja of Invincible Sweden for the Global Country of World Peace, reported on 12 May 2009 that Dr Travis plans to return to Gothenburg sometime in July, to continue with research on members of the orchestra as well as his lecture tour throughout the city.
Raja Plaut went on to report that a school in Stockholm has taken steps toward implementing Consciousness-Based Education. The school, comprising about 1,000 students, plans to introduce Transcendental Meditation gradually, beginning with a small group.
During a recent 'Health Day' event at the Stockholm school, students had the option of attending different presentations on health-related topics—including one on Transcendental Meditation. That presentation was well-attended and well-received, reported Raja Plaut. He added that the students' interest on Health Day was a good sign of success for the implementation of Transcendental Meditation.
