Lectures at the Institute of Education in London and at Cambridge University by leading brain researcher Dr Fred Travis* drew an enthusiastic response from the audience, which included many eminent educators, school teachers, educational specialists, and students.
Approximately 70-80 people attended each event**, and both audiences enjoyed a lively interaction with Dr Travis, asking many insightful questions, said Raja Peter Warburton, Raja of Invincible Great Britain for the Global Country of World Peace.
At the Institute of Education—which Raja Peter cited as Britain's premier educational institution—the audience took brochures about Consciousness-Based Education and contact information for London's Maharishi Invincibility Centre, and also gave their email addresses to be notified of future events.
At the end of both events, it was difficult to clear the hall as everyone wanted to stay and talk with Dr Travis, Raja Peter commented.
The audience at Cambridge University was also tremendously interested in Dr Travis's lecture, Raja Peter continued. Dr Travis explained that every experience affects the brain—and the audience was able to see first-hand how the experience of Transcendental Meditation increases brainwave coherence, during a live EEG demonstration.
The highlight of evening, Raja Peter said, was a discussion of Transcendental Meditation's implications for children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)***.
The lecture at Cambridge University inspired a leader from a prestigious school to make plans for a pilot programme offering the Transcendental Meditation Programme—with the intention to expand it to his whole school, Raja Peter concluded.
*Dr Fred Travis is the Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness, and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.
**These events were two among many during the highly successful of tour of Dr Travis through Great Britain. Please also see Part I, Part II, Part III, Part IV, Part V, and Part VI of this series.
