Father Gabriel Mejia, Catholic priest and director of multiple rehabilitation centres for juvenile offenders in Colombia, will receive an honorary doctorate degree in World Peace from Maharishi University of Management (M.U.M.) at the 2009 commencement ceremony, 27 June, at the campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA.

Thanks in part to the David Lynch Foundation, over 3,600 homeless children and youth offenders at the 47 shelters directed by Father Mejia have been instructed in the Transcendental Meditation Programme. This achievement is also due to the great organizing power of Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Invincible Latin America for the Global Country of World Peace.

'The entire M.U.M. community is deeply honoured to have Father Mejia attend the commencement ceremony and receive this degree,' said Dr Mario Orsatti, National Director of Communication for the Global Country of World Peace in the United States, on 23 June 2009.
