Continuing his presentation at the celebration of the four-year anniversary of the David Lynch Foundation*, Dr Ashley Deans reported that he had just been touring in South Korea, where he found tremendous interest and 'packed houses' at the presentations on Consciousness-Based Education. They were especially interested in the idea of establishing coherence-creating groups of Yogic Flyers to protect the whole area.

There are now about 140 Maharishi Vidya Mandirs [Maharishi Schools] in India, in which about 30,000 students are now Yogic Flyers.

The David Lynch Foundation is very active in Australia, where there is a Maharishi School in Melbourne. Aboriginal schools in Melbourne, Queensland, and Central Australia will soon be starting Consciousness-Based Education programmes, funded by the Foundation.

In Trinidad and Tobago a school is introducing Yogic Flying, and they will soon have the required number** practising together for the invincibility of that country.

In Haiti a programme has started under the leadership of Raja Jose Luis Alvarez, Raja of Latin America. In Brazil, the mayor of one of the largest cities has said that she would like a million disadvantaged students to have the advantage of Transcendental Meditation.

About 100,000 students have begun the programme in 19 countries in the Caribbean and Latin America, thanks to the generosity of the David Lynch Foundation. About 15,000 of these are now either taking the course to learn the Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, or are already Yogic Flyers.

'So a tremendous transformation has occurred,' Dr Deans said.

* The David Lynch Foundation fourth anniversary celebration was featured on the 28 and 29 July Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.

** Invincibility for a country is created when the required number of Yogic Flyers—equal to the square root of one per cent of the population—is practising the Transcendental Meditation and Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme together in large groups. Invincibility can be achieved in any area of society where such groups are living and working together, for example, in schools, the military, in companies, or where individuals assemble specifically for this purpose.
