A Consciousness-Based Education programme has begun in one of the largest high schools in Fiji.
In the first phase of the project, 320 students are learning the Transcendental Meditation Programme, said Raja Michael Dillbeck, Raja of Invincible Fiji for the Global Country of World Peace.
'We very sincerely hope this will form the foundation for a group of Yogic Flyers, to create national invincibility in Fiji, as the project develops', Raja Dillbeck said.*
Faculty members and 160 students are now practising Transcendental Meditation, and beginning in January another 160 students will learn the programme.
A Transcendental Meditation Teacher who has come from Australia said that teaching the students has 'been a really rewarding, nourishing experience. . . . The whole project is very lively. They practise their meditation 15 minutes at the beginning of class in the morning, and 15 minutes at the last class in the afternoon.
'Almost immediately some of the students were saying that they felt some change in their ability to focus on their studies. They just felt some bliss, some extra happiness, which is very visible . . . ,' she added.
Another Transcendental Meditation Teacher from the United States is also teaching at the school, and more Teachers are needed. '[The] people who have learned have had very enjoyable experiences,' the US Teacher said. 'It's been a lot of fun teaching here.'
'We do have a need for some more Teachers on the project,' he continued. 'So if there's anyone who thinks they would like to teach in a tropical paradise, they can contact Raja Michael Dillbeck.'
In coming days, Global Good News will feature comments from students about their experiences practising Transcendental Meditation.
* Raja Dillbeck's report was featured on the 17 December 2009 Maharishi Global Family Chat, broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
