Recent news from Maharishi Invincibility Institute in Johannesburg, South Africa, illustrates its rising leadership in promoting progress and invincibility for the city and the nation.

The surprise visit in October of Dr Joaquim Chissano, former President of Mozambique—highlighted again recently during a report about South Africa on Maharishi Global Family Chat*—was an honour for the Institute and a significant step of progress for its students and programmes.

Colourful slides illustrated the 16 December report by Raja Robert LoPinto, Raja of Invincible South Africa for the Global Country of World using Peace.

Raja LoPinto described how President Chissano talked with students and faculty of Maharishi Invincibility Institute about his experience using the Transcendental Meditation Programme to create peace in Mozambique in the 1990s. He introduced the technique to 13,000 military personnel, of whom 3,000 learnt the advanced Transcendental Meditation Sidhi Programme, including Yogic Flying.

President Chissano also talked with students about their own experiences of Transcendental Meditation, encouraging them in their practice and in their education at the Institute. 'The whole visit was extremely enjoyable and very inspiring for everyone,' Raja LoPinto said, echoing feelings expressed by many others about the event.

He also noted Maharishi Institute's recent establishment of Invincible Outsourcing. Students come to Invincible Outsourcing 'to learn and to work'—enabling them to pay for their education and support their families while still studying.

Computers have been donated to the programme, which has received tremendous support and attracted much attention from the media.

A Transcendental Meditation Centre has been established at the Institute. From this Centre, black South African Teachers of Transcendental Meditation are reaching out into communities in Johannesburg and around South Africa, to bring Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's knowledge and programmes to the local population.

* Raja LoPinto spoke on the 16 December Maharishi Global Family Chat, which is broadcast daily via Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3. Podcasts of the daily Global Family Chat (audio track) are also now available for automatic download, via an RSS feed.
