On 19 March 2010 The Huffington Post reported: On 19 March, singer-songwriter Donovan performed a benefit concert at the famous El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles, California, USA. The concert was in support of the David Lynch Foundation which offers the Transcendental Meditation Programme to students worldwide. Schools using this programme find students become less stressed, improve academic performance, and have higher graduation rates. It is a joy for Global Good News service to feature this news, which indicates the success of the life-supporting programmes Maharishi has designed to bring fulfilment to the field of education.

In the article, Donovan is quoted as saying that the concert, which includes performances of friends and family, is 'one more in a series for the David Lynch Foundation'. David and I have been traveling the world these last few years presenting a program that's working so well.'

The David Lynch Foundation aims to offer ' ''Quiet Time'' and its benefits into schools worldwide,' the Huffington Post states.

The Transcendental Meditation Programme incorporated as 'Quiet Time' in schools is 'turning down the stress levels, turning up the test scores and graduation numbers,' Donovan comments in the article. 'It's really doing cool things. We always knew it was great, but to actually see it in action through the foundation is wonderful,' the article quotes Donovan as saying.

The stress-reducing benefits of Transcendental Meditation are acknowledged in the medical field, Donovan continues.

David Lynch, a 35-year practitioner of Transcendental Meditation, was inspired to establish his Foundation when he 'saw 10 million students between the ages of six and eleven on the ADHD drugs,' Donovan says in the article.

He knew from medical professionals that Transcendental Meditation could help children with ADHD, and so 'he announced that he would begin The David Lynch Foundation,' Donovan tells the Huffington Post.

Videos and information about initiatives of the David Lynch Foundation are available at DLF.TV, Donovan comments.
