Students key to establishing national invincibility

Consciousness-Based Education is transforming the lives of students and the quality of schools in countries around the world. These school initiatives also have the potential to create invincibility in every nation.

'Maharishi Mahesh Yogi emphasized to us all that students in schools were the key to invincibility of the nation,' said Dr Bevan Morris, Prime Minister of the Global Country of World Peace.

Dr Morris spoke* about the success of Maharishi's programmes in the field of education upon his return from a tour of the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and many Asian countries.**

There is 'a completely new level of openness today' to offering the Transcendental Meditation Programme in schools, Dr Morris noted, highlighting the extraordinary interest and large-scale implementation in Latin America.

During his travels over the past couple of months, Dr Morris said he 'saw this phenomenon also in other places'.

'One of the most outstanding examples in America' was a school in California, Dr Morris said. Through the David Lynch Foundation, Maharishi's programmes were offered in this school 'that had very great troubles and violence'—and the school was completely transformed.

On one of the islands of Hawaii, Dr Morris visited a charter school which has introduced Transcendental Meditation to all of its students. 'The results have been so delightful . . . that now all the related chartered schools want to introduce Transcendental Meditation,' Dr Morris reported.

Dr Morris commented that a US education leader on the state level said that 'if she had the freedom to do it she would introduce [Transcendental Meditation] to all the children in all the schools.' Although this official does not have the authority to introduce the programme, this is 'a clear indication coming now, that things have changed completely from a few years ago, in terms of that openness, in terms of the desire for Consciousness Based Education,' Dr Morris concluded.
