Turkey: Students, teachers, parents eager to implement Transcendental Meditation

Students, teachers, and parents at a school in Turkey are eager to implement Consciousness-Based Education.

Dr Ashley Deans,* Global Ambassador for Consciousness-Based Education, recently visited Turkey and spoke about the programme, inspiring tremendous interest.

The principal of the school warmly welcomed Dr Deans and Raja Paul Potter, Raja of Invincible Turkey for the Global Country of World Peace, and invited them to speak with students and the teachers.

Although the students at this school had a reputation for being very badly behaved, Dr Deans said their reaction to the talk was surprisingly positive.

'They listened very attentively [and] there were wonderful questions at the end.' One student commented on how great he thought the Transcendental Meditation Programme sounded.

The success of that meeting with students and teachers inspired the principal to invite Raja Paul and Dr Deans to meet with parents the following day.

Consciousness-Based Education was completely new to the parents, but the response to the presentation was 'completely positive', Dr Deans said.**

As they were leaving the school for the second time, teachers and students continued to express their enthusiasm and appreciation.

'When we left,' Dr Deans recalled, 'the teachers were rushing up to us, saying: ''Thank You, thank you—we're really looking forward to this programme''. . . .

'The students themselves were greeting us outside of the school, saying, ''Thank you for coming back,'' and ''We hope you come back soon.'' '

Adoption of Consciousness-Based Education by this particular school will be 'a great breakthrough for Turkey', Dr Deans commented.
