UK: Maharishi School becomes a Free School

The highly successful Maharishi School in the United Kingdom, where students enjoy Consciousness-Based Education and the Transcendental Meditation Programme, opened in September 2011 as a Free School, 'Maharishi Free School'.

'The Free Schools have been developed in the United Kingdom in order to give support to those schools which have been seen to really work,' said a teacher of the Transcendental Meditation Programme.

The school is now state funded, meaning that more students will have the opportunity to attend and take advantage of the many benefits of Consciousness-Based Education.

Maharishi School has long been a leader in innovative education and has a history of outstanding student achievement.

This is 'an historic day', the Transcendental Meditation teacher said on 7 September, 'an exceptional day in all this history of unfolding a completely different quality of life for the world [through the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi], because today the new Maharishi Free School opened.'
