US: Maharishi University of Management redefines Vedic Science programme

The newly established College of Maharishi Vedic Science at Maharishi University of Management will offer an opportunity for inner development through the Transcendental Meditation Programme and its advanced programmes, including Yogic Flying, and for deep study of the timeless principles of Vedic Science. The programme was recently outlined by Dr William Sands, Dean of the College.

Dr Sands gave an overview of the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degree courses in Maharishi Vedic Science. All three levels include the reading of Sanskrit texts, which enlivens the specific qualities of the aspect of Vedic literature in students' awareness; study of the Bhagavad Gita; the fundamentals of world peace; and brain physiology and higher states of consciousness.

At the master's level study of self-pulse reading is included, as are administration through Natural Law and the physics of invincibility. At the doctoral level more time is spent on research in the field of consciousness on the Invincible America Assembly, and the student prepares a dissertation bringing out a new aspect of the discipline.

Dr Sands explained that the new College of Maharishi Vedic Science has expanded its goals to include creating an endowment for the university, public awareness of the subject, and distance education. In addition, the college is helping the academic staff organize to attend symposia, and inform the world about the programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

In the past two years many students have enrolled in the Maharishi Vedic Science degree programmes who have not yet learnt Transcendental Meditation, or have just recently learnt; they hear or read about the course and immediately become inspired to study this profound, timeless knowledge.
