The new College of Maharishi Vedic Science at Maharishi University of Management offers a range of courses and programmes to deepen understanding and experience of this profound, complete knowledge, the science and technology of consciousness.

Three levels of study are offered: undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral.

The undergraduate programmes include classes devoted to studying higher states of consciousness, the fundamentals of Maharishi Vedic Science, and the fundamentals of world peace.

All students in the programme study with brain research expert Dr Fred Travis. According to the dean of the new college, Dr William Sands, students will learn about 'brain physiology and how the growth to higher states of consciousness can be quantified from a neurophysiological point of view'.

In addition, students will learn the ancient language Sanskrit. They will learn how to read phonetically so they can read the Vedic texts for the sound value, enjoying benefits in consciousness and in physiology. Dr Sands remarked that this type of reading 'unfolds the different qualities of natural law in [the students'] awareness'.

In the graduate programme students will dive more deeply into all of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's principles and knowledge. They will also learn self-pulse reading so they can 'detect different imbalances in their own physiology' to maintain health, said Dr Sands.

They will take courses that deal with 'administration from every level of life. Administration not only in terms of how to perfect governmental performance, but also the administration of the universe,' Dr Sands commented.

In the doctoral degree programme students begin their dissertation, which provides them opportunity for great creativity. Dr Sands said, '[The students] marvel at the quality of their own intelligence, the quality of their own growth of consciousness.'

The dissertations often involve research and traditional scientific methodologies, but the students are free to follow their own inclinations in terms of their own growth of consciousness and intelligence.

Lastly, Dr Sands concluded, 'All of these courses are just part of the programme. The main emphasis is always on the development of consciousness.'
