US: Maharishi University of Management to host International Conference on Vedic Studies, July 31 - August 3

A wide range of topics related to Vedic studies, from modern physics to the parallels between Greek philosophers and Vedic knowledge, will be covered during a four-day international conference to be held on the Maharishi University of Management campus in Fairfield, Iowa, USA, this summer.
The Eleventh International Conference of the World Association for Vedic Studies (WAVES) will be held July 31 &ndash August 3 and will have the theme ''Vedic Living in a Modern World.''
The featured speakers will include Dr. John Hagelin, who will present talks on the topics of the ''Quantum Origins of Consciousness,'' ''Higher States of Consciousness,'' and ''Consciousness and the Unified Field.''
Other talks from the MUM community will include Robert Schneider, M.D., F.A.C.C., and Nancy Lonsdorf, M.D., on health; Dr. Fred Travis on the brain; Dr. Craig Pearson and Dr. Ken Chandler on experiences of higher states of consciousness seen in literature and Greek philosophy; and Dr Peter Scharf, who has built a digital Sanskrit library.
Well-known speakers from around the country and the world will include Ved Nanda, an internationally renowned jurist, Shashi Tiwari, a Sanskrit professor from Delhi University, Rajiv Malhotra, founder of The Infinity Foundation, and Ashok Narhar Aklujkar, professor emeritus of Sanskrit at the University of British Columbia.
