The Excellence In Action page of Global Good News highlights benefits for students from practising Transcendental Meditation and the findings of two researchers, neurophysiologist Dr Fred Travis, Dear of Graduate School and Director of the Center for Brain, Consciousness and Cognition at Maharishi University of Management and Dr Robert D Colbert at the University of Connecticut.

Dr Travis says, 'The TM technique helps students overcome stress and reverses its negative effects on the brain. TM activates the brain's pre-frontal areas, which are responsible for planning, foresight and decision-making.'
