On 2 February 2020 Reuters reported: Rohingya refugees reacted with surprise and joy on Wednesday [29 January] to the news that Bangladesh would provide formal education to their children, two and a half years after they were forced to flee Myanmar. Human rights groups have long campaigned for the nearly half a million effectively stateless Rohingya children in Bangladesh's refugee camps to be allowed access to quality education.
