Speaking from the Global Financial Capital of New York at a recent Press Conference on 'Unified Field-based' agriculture Dr John Konhaus, Raja of California for the Global Country of World Peace, and leading expert of Maharishi Vedic Organic Agriculture discussed how Vedic Agriculture can be a genuine basis for economic and social balance, national invincibility, and world peace.

These aspirations to create abundance and affluence in the food supply and to create economic balance and world peace are not new aspirations in the world, but so far they have been unachieved. Raja Konhaus explained how with Maharishi's knowledge and programmes this is now possible. 'Maharishi has a new seed which will yield a new crop, and that crop will nourish and support every other crop on Earth, so that they can flourish in abundance and vitality,' Raja Konhaus said.

'Vedic Agriculture wants to combine and align the creative intelligence of man with the creative intelligence of nature ... for the purpose of wealth, health, and prosperity. Agriculture is the oldest and most fundamental of our professions, it's actually the heart and soul of the nation, it's the true source of health, it's the true source of prosperity—and yet agriculture and poverty are now, in today's world, almost synonymous. Agriculture accounts for less than four per cent of the GDP of the world, but since all wealth ultimately comes from the earth, from man's interaction with the earth, it's our responsibility to learn to care for the earth and to develop the earth in such a way that we can use that creative intelligence of Nature to create wealth for man. The farmer should have a key role in his nation—he's really the father of his nation—but generally he's underpaid and under-appreciated. And this stems largely from the fact that, the value of food itself, the role of food in our lives is not recognized and is not appreciated,' said Raja Konhaus.

'Vedic Agriculture is not just planting seeds in the soil, it's a holistic system of Total Knowledge which governs the individual, the society, the nation and the entire world,' he said.

'Vedic Agriculture encompasses the full range of life from consciousness ... to the physical expression of matter on the farm. Vedic Agriculture understands and masters the inter-relationship of man, the environment, and food. It is a complete system of knowledge, because it encompasses all the three aspects of gaining knowledge—the knower, the process of knowing, and the known—or in Vedic terms, 'Rishi', 'Devata' and 'Chhandas'. 'Rishi' is the consciousness element of agriculture, the element of pure, silent, intelligence at the basis of the process; 'Devata' is the dynamic element of Vedic Agriculture, the Laws of Nature, how they express themselves within this Unified Field of consciousness; and 'Chhandas' is the farm, the soil, the air, the water, the physical elements of agriculture,' Raja Konhaus explained.
