True economic development possible only through Ram Mudra: Maharishi

The greatest scientist of consciousness, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, has advised the new Indian government, led by the renowned economist Dr. Manmohan Singh, to launch Ram Mudra as a second currency to retrieve the country from the fallacy of modern economic concepts.

'If there is purity in name, there will be purity in actions'. Elaborating more on the application of this concept, Maharishi said that to begin with, Ram Mudra, the currency of the Global Country of World Peace, could be given to the farmers to grow organic crops.

Offering his expertise on Vedic Agriculture, he said that there are specific Vedic Mantras meant for every agricultural activity or occasion which can provide nourishment and fulfillment to every individual, society and nation.

'This will bring purity to every action and every thought, and will culminate in the highest level of national or collective consciousness', he said. Likewise the concept could be given a chance in other realms of society such as health, education, defense, economy, management, industry or administration, he added.

The founder of the Global Country of World Peace said that there was no need for the government to borrow dollars to overcome the nation's problems. Instead, it should adopt the concept of Ram Raj and launch Ram Mudra to achieve self-dependence.

Maharishi warned that the world has seen the devastation caused by modern economic concepts--including globalization. In any society it is the concept of administration that is important, not the individual, he said. In Ayodhya, he reminded, Bharat ruled in the name of Ram. The same concept is valid even today.

Commenting on the political situation in India, he said that the country has seen how the system, wherein an individual takes precedence over concept, faces only failures. 'The path is destination which only the Vedic Administration could show', he said.

The founder of the worldwide Transcendental Meditation (TM) movement said that India has the responsibility to spread Vedic administration to realize the concept of 'Heyam Dukham Anagatam' (prevention from sufferings before they arrive).

Maharishi said it is the responsibility of the Vedics to restore permanent world peace and to remove negative tendencies. He also admonished the media for propagating the poisonous western ideologies largely inspired by the 'diplomacy of a tiny island'. Terming the freedom of press as a bogus thing, he said that the concept only creates fallacies and illusion in society.
