New headquarters for US Peace Government in New York purchased with Raam Mudra

Raam Mudra, the currency of the Global Country of World Peace, will be minted in the same building where the engravings on all US paper currency originated. Speaking to the world press during Maharishi's weekly news conference yesterday, His Excellency Dr Benjamin Feldman, Finance Minister of the Global Country, said that a beautiful, classic building, built by the American Banknote Company 100 years ago, had been purchased with the Raam currency. Located in the heart of New York's financial district, the hub of world economy, just a few blocks from the New York Stock Exchange, the stately, pillared building will serve as the Continental Capital of the Global Country of World Peace.

The US Peace Government will begin functioning from this building, with a grand inauguration on 2 July 2004, the day of Guru Purnima, announced His Excellency Dr John Hagelin, Minister of Science and Technology of the Global Country of World Peace and President of the US Peace Government.

Daily Global Parliaments of Peace, featuring top scientists and experts and showcasing solutions to problems in all fields, such as education, health care, defence, etc., will be held in Constitution Hall on the ground floor. It is expected that emissaries from around the world will attend the parliament sessions to learn of these effective approaches, which are based on Natural Law. Television and the Internet will also broadcast the daily sessions.

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, world's foremost authority on the science of consciousness, congratulated Dr Hagelin on his announcement and revealed the main principle of the functioning of the Peace Government: Whereas all other governments function from the field of action, the Peace Government functions from silence.

Maharishi explained that the silent, restful functioning of the Peace Government is modeled on 'the most ancient, ideal feature of administration—the perfect administration of the ever-expanding galactic universe, where tremendous diversity is governed by simple unity'. He compared this principle of administration with the force of gravity, which puts diversity together into unity.

Dr Hagelin, who is also a leading quantum physicist, 'owns not only the theory, but also the total energy and intelligence of gravity', said Maharishi, and he proves his mastery over gravity each time his body lifts up in the air during the practice of Yogic Flying, where a mere gentle thought is sufficient to lift the weight of the whole physical body.

Likewise, all the custodians of peace trained by the Peace Government will own the unmanifest totality of Natural Law in their own awareness and have the ability to govern from this eternal field of nothingness.

'It's not a joke', Maharishi assured the global press, pointing out that man is suffering because he doesn't know he has this capacity to utilize the enormous power of the Unified Field of all the Laws of Nature, which is like an infinite treasury within each human being.

In his comments on the day's events, Maharishi also clarified the role of the new Capital in a world that has become increasingly full of narrowness and fear. Observing that politics has been swallowed by economy—or, as Dr Hagelin put it, 'Government today is all about money'—Maharishi said that the affluence produced by his Natural Law based programmes and the use of Raam Mudra as a development currency will bring satisfaction to politics. With the new Capital of the Global Country of World Peace, 'Politics will be purified in the world center of economy in New York.'
