Maharishi presides over global Victory Day celebrations

His Holiness Maharishi Mahesh Yogi presided over grand, global Victory Day celebrations on October 23, heralding the establishment of the Capital of Vedic America in Maharishi Vedic City, Iowa, and the announcement that The Mayor, the Honorable Dr. Robert G. Wynne, will assume the high post of Raja (Ruler) of Vedic America.

And in an historic address to the global assembly, Dr. John Hagelin, world-renowned quantum physicist and President of the US Peace Government, called for the constitutions of every country to be immediately rewritten to incorporate the most up-to-date scientific knowledge of the Unified Field—the Constitution of the Universe—and thereby ensure that every individual and every nation rises to invincibility.

'This Victory Day celebration has been a great and fulfilling day,' Maharishi said. 'The rise of the administration of Vedic America and Dr. Hagelin's announcement that the constitutions of every country must be rewritten are the fruit of the tree of knowledge that has been growing year after year for the past 50 years.'

Victory Day is an auspicious day in the Vedic Calendar. The Victory Day celebrations were broadcast live on all continents via satellite and Internet webcast from the Capital of the Global Country of World Peace in Meru, Holland; the Capital of Vedic America in Maharishi Vedic City; and the National Offices of the US Peace Government in Washington, D.C.

During his address, Dr. Hagelin cited one of America's most revered founders, Thomas Jefferson, who declared that the US Constitution should be completely rewritten every 20 to 30 years to keep pace with the progress of the human mind and the discovery of new scientific truths—and to ensure that the new generation is not encumbered by the nation's past.

Maharishi urged the current generation of Americans to follow the founder's wise advice. 'Create a new constitution that 'shakes hands' with the Unified Field which administers the universe with perfect order,' Maharishi said. 'The Unified Field—the light of God, Veda—is an omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent reality that has been verified by modern science, the ancient science of consciousness, and the holy texts of every religion.'

Dr. Hagelin said the constitution of every country should include a clause that establishes a coherence-creating group of Yogic Flyers who will maintain national life in accord with Natural Law. 'This will bring the administration of the nation into alliance with the Constitution of the Universe and promote success and invincibility for the government,' Dr. Hagelin said.

Maharishi expressed delight that the City Council and citizens of Maharishi Vedic City created the foundation of enlightenment for the whole world family. 'The administration of Vedic America is a new gift to the world today—an ideal unit of global administration based on the Constitution of the Universe, which is the Constitution of Maharishi Vedic City,' Maharishi said. 'Until yesterday, I saw America and its allies as the most destructive power in the world. Now, however, I hear the voice of Vedic America as the voice of unity in a world of diversity—a voice that speaks of invincibility for every individual and every nation. The voice of Vedic America is the voice of Vedic India, which is the voice of the cultural heritage of every country.'

Maharishi contrasted the peaceful administration of Vedic America with the destructive system of democracy which divides a nation against itself and tears down positive cultural values. 'Democracy has been a fashion—but it is nothing other than a bloody, brutal dictatorship,' Maharishi said. 'From today, the voice of Vedic America will be the guiding light of the human race. And with a Peace Government in every country creating coherent collective consciousness and promoting governmental success and stability, every nation will throw off this wretched democracy.'

Maharishi concluded by offering congratulations and deep appreciation to His Majesty Raja Raam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace. His Majesty Raja Raam's scientific discovery that human physiology is the expression of the Unified Field—the field of consciousness—reveals the cosmic potential within every individual and every nation. This potential can be enlivened through the science and technology of the Unified Field. 'You are stirring the silent functioning of the Unified Field within your own self-referral consciousness, and it is transforming the world,' Maharishi told His Majesty Raja Raam. 'Please continue to do it.'

'I am not an advocate for frequent changes in laws and constitutions, but laws and institutions must go hand-in-hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths discovered and manners and opinions change, with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also to keep pace with the times. We might as well require a man to continue wearing still the coat which fitted him when a boy as to require civilized society to remain ever under the regimen of their barbarous ancestors.' —As quoted in the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Maharishi's blunt warning to the world

CHOOSE PEACE OR DESTRUCTION

Maharishi restated the plan of this week with emphasis on action and issued a blunt message to the world: At at time when no government can protect its people from an enemy attack, everyone now has a clear choice—create peace through the technology of the Unified Field or face destruction.

Maharishi said that Washington, DC, is in a highly precarious situation. 'Your house is on fire,' Maharishi told the people living and working in America's capital city. 'This is not the time for gossip or a 'wait-and-see' attitude. This is the time to participate—this is the time to create peace. You can save yourself, your city, your nation, and your world through the technology of the Unified Field—or else the next generation will have to create a new America and a new world.'

Maharishi acknowledged that his message is blunt. 'But the manner of expression—whether I say it bluntly or I say it in a nice, gentle manner—does not matter,' Maharishi said. 'What matters is the content of what is being said—and what is being heard.'

Maharishi urged government leaders to utilize total knowledge to safeguard their people. 'The knowledge of the Unified Field—which administers the universe with perfect order—is complete. It can be understood from the physical sciences, the science of consciousness, and the holy texts of every religion. And now the simple technology is available to enliven this field within the Self of everyone.'

In response to a press question about the US presidential race between President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry, Maharishi dismissed both politicians as incapable of bringing anything new and substantial to the nation. 'I would not bother with them—they are too old,' Maharishi said. 'When the tree is dry, you cannot water the root and expect fruit.' Maharishi also denounced world politics as dirty and US politics as devastating because it promotes destruction worldwide. 'They create terrorism somewhere and then pounce on the country to subdue the terrorism. Then they occupy the country and sells arms. The whole thing is shameful,' Maharishi said.

Maharishi said the only way to save the world is to create an invincible influence of coherence and harmony in world consciousness. For that, Maharishi called on everyone of every age—students, working adults, and retired people—to practise Transcendental Meditation and Yogic Flying. In particular, Maharishi called on 8,000 students attending universities in the Washington area to practise Yogic Flying together in groups. 'Spend half an hour or an hour every morning and evening to enliven the supreme level of intelligence within your own self-referral consciousness and create coherent world consciousness,' said Maharishi, who then underscored the urgency of his call: 'If you don't do that, then don't expect to be around tomorrow. These are the hard facts of life.'

Maharishi concluded by announcing that his Global Country of World Peace is offering total knowledge to every government to raise the nation to invincibility. However, Maharishi emphasized, it is the choice of the leaders how they respond to the offer. 'You can serve good food to the people, but you can't make them eat it. We are offering the world our full support, goodwill, and sympathy—and supreme knowledge. But if the people choose not to participate—to wait and see what happens next—that is their choice. But soon they will not be able to see anything because of smoke from the missiles. So choose to either live in the light or continue to live in darkness—but there is nothing else in between,' Maharishi said.
