New Zealand: 600% increase in water pollution incidents
Scoop Media Translate This Article
17 December 2004
On 17 December 2004 Scoop Media reported:
Over the last four years there has been a 600 per cent increase in water pollution incidents caused by activities using concrete, and the Aukland Regional Council (ARC) is cracking down on concrete contractors.
Global Good News service views this news as the failure of modern government systems.
Such 'flops' highlight the need for more intelligent, evolutionary, Natural Law based, life-supporting systems.
The ARC Pollution Response Team sent information to over 1000 businesses and individuals who work with concrete, to increase awareness of the environmental effects of concrete, and what can be done to prevent it, in order to protect native fish from 'death by concrete'.
The article noted that concrete and cement products contain burnt lime, which produces a strong alkaline solution that kills fish and insects through chemical burns. Thirty per cent of all fish killed are destroyed by concrete wastewater.
Fines of up to $1000 or prosecution can be avoided by adopting the cost-effective alternatives developed by ARC.
Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total
Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
