On 13 September 2005 Reuters reported: The last remaining rebel group in Burundi rejected a peace offer from the new government, dealing a serious blow to the Burundi peace process. Rebels of the Forces for National Liberation (FNL) refused to recognize the newly formed government and vowed to continue fighting. Global Good News service views this news as the failure of modern government systems. Such 'flops' highlight the need for more intelligent, evolutionary, Natural Law based, life-supporting systems.

The government responded by saying, 'The FNL must negotiate by their will or by force.'

The article noted that the new government was sworn in last month under a UN-backed plan to bring the civil war to an end. A spokesman for the rebels told Reuters that they objected to the fact that the government was 'imposed by the international community and it was not elected by Burundian people'.

The Reuters article said that another difficulty in the negotiations was that the government had offered to meet with the former senior member of the rebel movement instead of the current leader.

Every day Global Good News documents the rise of a better quality of life dawning in the world and highlights the need for introducing Natural Law based—Total Knowledge based—programmes to bring the support of Nature to every individual, raise the quality of life of every society, and create a lasting state of world peace.
