A phase transition has taken place in the evolution of Britain's national consciousness

This July saw the reopening of the activities of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's organization in Great Britain. When activities were suspended in 2005, following the reaffirmation of Britain's negative foreign policies in the results of the general election, Maharishi explained that it would be the rise in world consciousness, produced by groups of experts in the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi Programme in other countries around the world, that would neutralize the negative tendencies in British national consciousness and herald a new era in the country, alongside the growing trends of enlightenment and invincibility seen around the world.

Progressively, changes have been seen in the nation, evidencing a softening of Britain's position, and along with the opening of activities in Scotland at the beginning of 2007, the Invincibility Assemblies around the world have produced positive developments that were far from the horizon in the spring of 2005.

Chief Minister of the Global Country of World Peace for England, Geoffrey Clements, DPhil, provides an analogy to help understand this change. He explains that, in the physical sciences, there are many examples of phase transitions, in which a progressive change in conditions, sometimes subtle, creates marked changes in the state of a system.

Water vapour, water, and ice all contain the same molecule but have contrasting properties, created by the changes in phase or state with decreasing temperature. At very low temperatures, the phase transitions to superconductivity or superfluidity demonstrate a profound transformation from local correlations to long-range macroscopic quantum coherence, in which many of the qualities of invincibility are to be found. In the same way, the increase in orderliness or coherence in the collective consciousness has far-reaching and profound effects on many aspects of the collective life of society and on the quality of life experienced by everyone.

Most markedly, Dr Clements continued, the leader of government, as the mirror and expression of collective consciousness, will voice these shifts in the quality of national consciousness.

In the short period he has been in office, the new British Prime Minister has expressed many such changes, which to a large degree have been the indicator for the re-opening of Maharishi's programmes to create enlightenment and perfect health in Britain.

There have been substantial changes announced in the procedures necessary to mandate military action, and a number of other statements and actions that indicate a more humanitarian and positive stance of the British government towards many facets of life, Dr Clements noted. In addition, it is interesting to note that Mr Brown has a great admiration for the culture and history of India, the custodian of Vedic knowledge, and its importance in today's world. A few months before he became Prime Minister, in his first visit to India, he made profound remarks about the country. As noted in talks by the Indian High Commissioner in London, Mr Brown is reported to have said that for a culture that had the wisdom to recognize the importance of zero in mathematics, and to invent the decimal system, the challenges of today's world will be easy to surmount.

Dr Clements concludes that for all the supporters of Maharishi's programmes, and the well-wishers of positivity and peace in the world, the lesson is profound and simple: To maintain this phase transition towards a peace-creating and invincible Britain, with only positive contributions in the world, there is one fundamental element to focus on—increasing the degree of coherence in national consciousness, and contributing towards the creation of coherence in other parts of the world. In this way, Britain's future will be well set as a peaceful and coherent nation in an enlightened world.
