Global Country of World Peace celebrates Vedic Tradition of knowledge, 25 July 2010

The Global Country of World Peace held its grand, global celebration of the full moon day of Guru Purnima on 25 July 2010. This special day-long celebration took place in MERU, Holland and at the Global Capital of World Peace in the Brahmasthan (geographical centre) of India. Celebrations were also held in countries around the world, connected to and enjoying the live global Internet webcast on the Maharishi Channel, Channel 3.

Guru Purnima is the day in the Vedic Calendar that is dedicated to honouring the Masters of the eternal Vedic Tradition of knowledge, who throughout time have upheld the supreme wisdom of life. In this generation this wisdom has been brought to the world through the knowledge and programmes of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's Vedic Science, through the blessings of his Master, Shri Guru Dev*—to bring enlightenment to every individual and invincibility to every nation.

Sunday's celebration was held in the presence of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace, in the assembly of Rajas, Raj Rajeshwaris,** global Ministers and National Directors of the Global Country from around the world.

A great highlight of the celebration, following traditional Vedic recitations by Maharishi Vedic Pandits in the Brahmasthan of India and in MERU, was the video replay of Maharishi's Guru Purnima address from 22 July 2005.

In that historic address, Maharishi described the Vedic ideal of administration—'that supreme administration, that ideal organization of Raam Raj'—Heaven on Earth. This ideal administration will be the reality of practical life everywhere, Maharishi said, when the total value of the Veda, the Constitution of the Universe, is fully awakened in every area of life: education, health, government, politics, etc—as the fully ripened fruit of the seed given to Maharishi by his Master, Guru Dev, in the Technologies of Consciousness to experience and awaken the Constitution of the Universe in daily life.

Maharishi described the Constitution of the Universe as 'the laws that are always nourishing, supporting, and always evolutionary to everyone spontaneously from within and from without—that field of Total Knowledge which is every aspect of life in parts or in wholes. Life as a unified wholeness of all the innumerable parts, and life in terms of parts. . . . a miraculous, a miraculous, a miraculous field of total wakefulness, of Total Knowledge.'

The character of Raam Raj, as described in the Vedic Literature, Maharishi said, was that:

'Whenever someone wanted rain, the rain came onto him. . . . Fulfilment of desire. This is in close proximity to fulfilment of intention. Our programme . . . is to have universities, colleges, schools in all parts of the world, where the Constitution of the Universe will be brought to the awareness of everyone in every generation, from now on.

'Constitution of the Universe means life according to Natural Law. Life according to Natural Law means life in the light of God, life in full enlightenment, Total Knowledge, the Constitution of the Universe, the whole Veda. And so simply, everyone is going to be awakened in the total value of the Veda, and everyone is going to live Veda in daily life. Constitution of the Universe will be conducting, regulating, will be administering the life of everyone, when the Veda becomes open to the awareness of the children—when the Veda is lived in the daily life of the youth, and of the old, all levels of life on earth will in the light of the Veda, in the light of Total Knowledge. Total Knowledge will be a living reality through these schools, colleges, and universities that we have planned to establish throughout the world. . . . that reality which is going to bloom in the life of all the people throughout the world. It is the life of the spontaneously living Constitution of the Universe.'

After the video of Maharishi's address, the assembly enjoyed a beautiful address by Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam. The first session concluded with greetings and resolutions from the Purusha*** Rajas and the Raj Rajeshwaris, followed by the raising of the Flag of the Global Country of World Peace by Maharaja in MERU.

The afternoon session in MERU featured an address by Dr Eike Hartmann, Minister of Architecture and City Planning of the Global Country, on achievements and plans of his Ministry, followed by a special presentation on the 192 Maharishi Towers of Invincibility to be built around the world. This took the form of a beautiful ceremony, organized by the Raj Rajeshwaris, in which Rajas symbolically placed Maharishi Towers of Invincibility on each country of their domains, on a large world map—as a symbolic expression of their resolution to establish the Towers, given to Maharishi on 9 January 2008. Raja John Hagelin, Raja of Invincible America, also presented achievements from his domain in the past year.

The day's festivities concluded with a special evening concert—the second in the Maharishi Gandharva Veda Festival for World Peace, held in MERU 24 and 25 July as part of the Guru Purnima celebrations. For information on how to view replays online, please see Concert.
