Leaders of the Global Country of World Peace gathered in MERU, Holland on 31 December 2010 to celebrate the new year, honouring the profound principles of administration through silence* brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, Founder of the Global Country of World Peace.

Throughout the years in which Maharishi established his worldwide organizations offering the Transcendental Meditation Programme, 31 December has been celebrated in honouring the tradition of teachers of the ancient Vedic wisdom, from which Maharishi brought out the knowledge and technologies of consciousness, including Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes.

The assembly enjoyed a video of Maharishi speaking on 31 December 2007, before beginning his traditional days of silence at the start of the new year. In his address Maharishi brought out profound knowledge about administration through silence, the theme of the Global Country of World Peace—the administration of the full blossoming of total Natural Law, the Constitution of the Universe, to promote health, happiness, prosperity, and peace for the people of all nations.

On that day, Maharishi said that it was a 'very fortunate day—very very fortunate day for all mankind. The time has stepped onto a new bright destiny of mankind. . . . a wide gate for silence to administer the forthcoming bright destiny of mankind.'

Continuing his address after special recitations by Maharishi Vedic Pandits in India, Maharishi said, 'we are entering in the field of absolute, eternal admiration to the eternal silence that rules the universe. . . . so that we nourish our Being with that eternal silent administrative power of Veda to display its blissful, eternally elevating administrator of absolute silence, so that the ocean of silence guides and rules over every activity of the individual and every nation in our world to display that master management, master administration of total Natural Law, the Constitution of the Universe, the Veda, for all coming time. . . .'

Maharishi went on to say, 'That is going to be our fortune of silence, when we open silence and start administering our world's daily destiny in that most fortunate direction where Natural Law, total Natural Law—its full blossom—will be the guiding light of every incoming and outgoing breath of our single individual life in our world and the life of every nation in our world family.' After these days of silence, Maharishi said, '. . . . we will open the door of eternal silence and begin to radiate that authority, that dignity, that grandeur, that fulfilment of administration through silence.'

This year's celebration in MERU was held in the presence of Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam, honoured by Maharishi as First Ruler of the Global Country of World Peace. During the celebration, Maharaja gave a beautiful address, highlights of which will be featured in global Good News in the coming days.

* Maharishi has explained that Maharaja Adhiraj Rajaraam's administration of the Global Country of World Peace, supporting the creation of invincibility in 192 countries, functions by administration through silence. This is administration from the level of total Natural Law at the deepest, most silent, unbounded level of consciousness of all the leaders and members of the Global Country of World Peace throughout the world, through their daily practice of Maharishi's technologies of consciousness—and promoting full awakening of Natural Law in the consciousness of every individual, and in the collective consciousness of every nation and the entire world.
