Countries of Latin America and Caribbean strive to work together peacefully

Another positive change seen recently in Latin America is on the political front. In addition to a recent United Nations report of dramatically decreased poverty levels in the continent, there is also news of all countries in Latin America and the Caribbean desiring to work together to enact powerful and peaceful change.

Last weekend, a gathering of all the leaders of Latin America and the Caribbean met in Caracas, Venezuela to discuss the possibility of creating a union of their 33 countries.

'All the countries of Latin America and all the countries of the Caribbean [want] to be together in one union, and that union to be an economic and political power for the world,' said an administrator of the Transcendental Meditation Programme on the continent.

'Together we are happy, and together we can do more. We are able to do more in a peaceful way, and in a balanced way,' he said.

That meeting held in Caracas for this purpose, for a united Latin America and the Caribbean, is also a very surprising development of rising coherence in collective consciousness in each of those countries, the administrator said.

'This news, both on a political and economic front, shows that something very basic is changing. The way things are seen in Latin America as a whole . . . the whole continent, almost 600 million people are changing their destinies.'

He attributes this positive sign of change to the success of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's programmes in Latin America. 'At the root is Maharishi's knowledge.'

Developments in the field of education and in the security forces—in which large groups are practising Transcendental Meditation and its advanced techniques—have created a foundation of accumulated coherence for the whole continent, on which more stable projects involving larger populations are able to practise Maharishi's technologies of consciousness for a collective effect. 'From the north to the south of the continent, this is happening.'
