In good news from Canada, the manufacturing sector is beginning to rely more heavily on clean and environmental technology. Also, Canada's international reputation is on the rise.

Transcendental Meditation teachers in the country say that these and other positive trends reported in the news media are reflections of rising coherence in the collective consciousness of the nation, resulting from a 100 per cent increase in the number of people learning Transcendental Meditation in the past 18 months.

Major cities Vancouver, Toronto, and Ottawa are regularly voted as the world's most livable and safest cities. More telling, though, is the fact that Vancouver is now the second greenest city in North America, after San Francisco. But under Vancouver's mayor, there is a very comprehensive plan to surpass San Francisco to become the greenest city on the continent in the next four years.

An example of other environmental developments in the country is the changing landscape of the manufacturing sector. In Canada, the clean technology field now employs more people than the aerospace industry. Experts estimate that clean tech will exceed the size of the aerospace industry to become a $23 billion industry by 2016.

The ability to cooperate and work together in order to accomplish goals is a big part of Canada's international reputation.

Christine Lagarde, head of the International Monetary Fund, said that Canada is identified abroad by its values of coordination and consensus building, which have given the country influence beyond its years.

For example, Canada is currently negotiating four major free-trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership. Canada was invited to negotiate by President Obama and the leaders of other nations, including Australia, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei, and Mexico.

Dr John Cowhig, a teacher of Transcendental Meditation in Canada, commented that Canada now has 'an agreement with the European Union, with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and [is] even negotiating agreements with India and Japan—thus showing the friendliness, integration, and acceptance that Canada enjoys all over the world.'

These positive qualities are some of the characteristics of growing national invincibility predicted by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi to develop in any country when Transcendental Meditation and its advanced programmes—coherence-creating technologies of consciousness—are increasingly practised by the people of the nation.
